Shénmì Lóng — The Mystical Dragon
神秘龙
SHÉNMÌ LÓNG
The Mystical Dragon · Head Instructor Pedro Barros
THE 6 SIGNATURE TECHNIQUES · 六龙式
Form I
龙底拳
Long Di Quan
Lóng Dǐ Quán · 龙底拳
The Dragon's Earthly Punch
Devastating horizontal strike with complete hip rotation. Force generated through the full kinetic chain — feet to fist — released with Fajin at the moment of maximum tension. The rear hand at the hip amplifies power through counter-tension.
Primary Targets
Full face · Solar plexus · Sternum · Neck · Cervical spine
Form II
龙闪爪
Long Shan Zhao
Lóng Shǎn Zhǎo · 龙闪爪
The Dragon Extends Its Claws
Two-phase penetrating technique. Phase 1 creates visual distraction and controls distance. Phase 2 executes the real strike to unprotected vital zones. Highly effective against sight-focused defenses.
Primary Targets
Eyes · Throat · Solar plexus · Neck pressure points
Form III
龙天拳
Long Tian Quan
Lóng Tiān Quán · 龙天拳
The Dragon's Celestial Punch
Ascending vertical strike: hook to the jaw or direct to the chin. Force rises from the Earth through the full kinetic chain. The three Dan Tian are engaged sequentially for maximum power generation and neurological impact.
Primary Targets
Jaw · Chin (KO) · Solar plexus · Sternum · Forehead
Form IV
龙尾鞭
Long Wei Bian
Lóng Wěi Biān · 龙尾鞭
The Dragon's Tail Whip
Dual-phase defense and counterattack. The ascending motion intercepts incoming strikes; the descending whip-crack delivers devastating impact. Particularly effective in simultaneous block-and-strike combinations.
Primary Targets
Ascending: deflect attacks · Descending: neck, jaw, nape, shoulder
Form V
龙摔角
Long Sui Jiao
Lóng Suāi Jiǎo · 龙摔角
The Dragon Breaks the Jaw
High-power cross to the mandibular angle. Activates mandibular nerve receptors causing neurological short-circuit — severe stunning or knockout. Full body weight and hip rotation maximize force transfer. High efficiency against guard-heavy defenses.
Primary Targets
Jaw · Chin (neurological KO) · Temples · Floating ribs
Form VI
龙战意
Long Zhan Yi
Lóng Zhàn Yì · 龙战意
The Dragon Opens Its Wings
Explosive bilateral expansion — simultaneously defensive against grabs and clinches, and offensive with devastating bilateral impact. The Kiai voice amplifies the psychological and physical effect at the moment of release.
Primary Targets
Both ears (tympanic rupture) · Ribs · Temples · Anti-clinch defense
Yangyiquan — Practice
SIFU PEDRO BARROS · DYNAMIC PRACTICE
BIOMECHANICAL PRINCIPLES · 生物力学原则
I
RELAXATION–EXPLOSION
Muscles remain completely relaxed during the technique trajectory and contract explosively only in the millisecond of impact. This maximizes speed, reduces energy expenditure, and makes movements unpredictable. A tense muscle telegraphs; a relaxed one surprises.
II
ASCENDING KINETIC CHAIN
All force originates in the feet-ground connection and ascends through knees → hips → spine → shoulder → terminating at the point of application. No technique bypasses this chain. Short-circuiting any link dramatically reduces effective power.
III
FAJIN — EXPLOSIVE RELEASE
Qi accumulated in the Dan Tian is released in a single controlled explosion at the moment of contact. The practitioner learns to store and release this energy at will — the signature of advanced Yangyiquan practice.
IV
JUSTIFIED INTENT
The Sifu teaches: a warrior who attacks with pure defensive intent generates fluid, explosive, precise movements. One who attacks from anger or arrogance generates tense, premature, telegraphed movements. Intent determines biomechanical quality.
COMBAT TACTICS · 战术
THE FUNDAMENTAL WAR PARADOX — 战术
Attack with the intention of defending. The practitioner who fights to protect — not to destroy — generates biomechanically superior movements. Intent modifies muscular relaxation, speed and power at the moment of impact.
PRIOR KNOWLEDGE — Victory Before the First Strike
The real battle occurs before the first strike. Mental preparation of attack sequences, target definition and adversary analysis before combat begins. Inner certainty creates perceptual disturbance in the opponent.
ANNIHILATION STRATEGY — Destroy the Foundation
Rather than neutralizing attacks one by one, identify and destroy the structural pillars of the adversary's combat capacity — primarily the knees. Persistence and depth over variety and surface.
TACTICAL BLINDNESS — Temporary Vision Compromise
Threaten the eyes to force guard elevation, exposing lower flanks. The real attack follows immediately to zones unprotected by the distraction. Smoke over the enemy troops.
