The Yangyiquan adopts as an irrevocable principle that a true martial system does not only destroy: it also heals. The history of the great Chinese martial traditions is inseparably linked to traditional medicine, phytotherapy and the therapeutic arts.
Sifu Pedro Barros (Shiatsu, Sports Massage, Pranic Healing Level 1) has integrated into Yangyiquan a complete medical and therapeutic system called Dao Zhiliao — "The Cure Through the Way" — encompassing both energetic and philosophical methods as well as the use of traditional topical medicines.
This medicine does not replace conventional scientific medicine; it complements it from an integral perspective that attends to the totality of the human being — body, energy, mind and spirit.
Dao Zhiliao integrates three complementary therapeutic dimensions, each addressing a different layer of the human being.
Five original topical herbal formulas, each targeting a different biological tissue. An adaptation of the ancient Chinese martial healing tradition to the Iberian phytotherapy landscape. Efficacy increases exponentially with maceration time — reaching 97-100% at full maturity.
Yang Therapy: Visualization of warm golden-white light directed by Yi toward areas requiring activation, strengthening or warmth. Effective for cold, rigidity, circulatory blockage and weakness.
Yin Therapy: Cold, dark, receptive energy to extract excess, inflammation, pathological heat and energetic toxins. Both polarities together enable precise self-regulation of the energetic system.
The word, used with pure intention and precise knowledge, is a therapeutic instrument of the first magnitude. The Sifu teaches: "La palabra — arma mortífera — Tornate el bien de todos."
Yi applied therapeutically: directing Qi toward specific zones of the patient's body. Through Shén Shí (empathic resonance), the practitioner feels the patient's energetic blockages as their own and applies Zhǎn to restore the Yin-Yang balance.
Fire burns the root of chronic illness. Wind (rhythmic breath and Qi circulation) sweeps impurities and metabolic residues. Earth and Water nourish tissues and provide the stability needed for new healthy tissue to establish itself. This medicine complements conventional scientific medicine from an integral perspective.
